Proposed

I propose, for my first intervention, a review and revision of an important PDF document that the College of Arts & Sciences provides to all of its incoming students (and a copy to their families) on Day 2 of Red Raider Orientation at Texas Tech University.

Plan

1. Propose the Idea to Dr. Zdenek.
2. Begin documentation of proposal, process, and results in an online format to track progress and prepare skeleton for final assignment.
3. Upon approval, proceed to review document using Text-to-Speech provided with Mac operating system.
4. Complete rough evaluation of document's accessibility using the California standard found online here.
5. Review the strategies and methods established by WebAim for creating accessible PDF documents (online at: http://www.webaim.org/techniques/acrobat/)
6. Document findings and strategies at the blog.
7. Run the Acrobat Pro 9.0 Accessibility Checker on the document and compare its accessibility report with my own rough evaluation. (More information on the Acrobat Accessibility Checker is available online here.)
