For my second grade interview project, I chose Andy Wilkinson.  Daddy got excited and made the magazine cover you see here.  He was especially proud of the little barcode at the bottom of the magazine cover.  If you have a fancy phone, when you take a picture, your phone will automatically know to come back to this web page.  Pretty neat!.

All About Andy Wilkinson

Hello! Welcome to Lubbock's Helping Heroes!  I have chosen Andy Wilkinson for our facts person today.  He is a playwright and songwriter.  He plays mostly guitar, sometimes piano.  He was born on June 26, 1948, in Slaton, Texas, at Mercy Hospital.  His wife is named Mary Anne; son, Ian; daughter, Emily; and granddaughter, Pixel.  He attended Hodges Elementary School, Bayless Elementary School, Atkins Middle School, Monterey High School, Texas Tech University, and the University of Denver.  He has received six National Western Heritage Awards.  He chose to make Lubbock his permanent home because he likes the blue skies.  More of his hobbies would be reading, like me!

He thought I should be asking him “How can people look at what they like to do as a job?”  His answer was, “Imagine what you want to do as a job and don’t let other people talk you out of it.”  He also says, “You don’t have a place so much as a place has you.”
