It’s funny how we forget the times, places, and ways that we learn simple things. For example, do you remember when you learned about hiccups?
Today, as we were driving home from Kolten’s first birthday party, Hallie was laughing at herself everytime one of those odd digestive spasms would pop out involuntarily.
I asked, “Hallie, do you have the hiccups?” With a quizzical look she says, “Pick-ups? No, Daddy. You’re so silly.” I demonstrated my best mock-hiccup … And received a confused and laughter-filled response. A few moments later, when it happened to her again, we finally made a connection between the word, the idea, and the experience. Learning … how much fun! :)
