How cool is this? Our memory verse for family camp this summer (10 days from now!!!) is Matthew 6:19-21, with a theme of “Chasing What Matters.” I love that I’m reading these verses this morning, my first real day back fully in the saddle at work, with this clarified perspective on why I’m here, how my job fits in to the larger priorities that God has for my life, and how to live fully in each of my roles without compromising my integrity, quality, or pursuit of excellence in any of them. Today we’ll find out if the baby is a girl or a boy, and the growing reality of this new life urges me to reflect this morning on “chasing what matters” with a slightly different perspective. Wow … the rain is refreshing, my health is returning, our baby is growing, our church is challenging, and my heart is singing.
