So the adventures begin ... Emmy pulled her first tooth this morning ... with a little help from Daddy. She was really excited, especially when I pulled out the pink thread ... then scared, the screaming red-faced drama kind of scared, then composed, then scared again. Then, I "checked" it, and finding that it was VERY wobbly, pushed it forward a bit, and her eyes got wide, but she continued talking and crying like she was before. For a few seconds she didn't even realize that it was done, then the dawn came. Like a light bulb, she instantly resumed her typical beaming countentance, announcing triumphantly, "I am a snaggle-tooth!"
It was hilarious and even profound to see the instantaneous transformation from fearful to victorious. How many other places in life do we all waver on the boundary between fear and victory? Hmmm. Something I'll have to think on a little more. Anyhow ... today we're celebrating Emmy, our little snaggle-tooth lionness!
