John 15:13 - My life aka my ego, comfort, goals, hopes and dreams, even my fears ... it's just so unrealistic to expect one person to really give up everything for someone else. And yet that's what Christ did for us, and what he calls us to do for others. Where in my life today must I lay down "me" so I can show love to someone else?
Then I think of the Father ... what would it be like to sacrifice my own child so that someone else could live? What torturous pain ... words fail.
Romans 5:8, John 10:11 - So this death theme could seem kinda morbid, right, but when I look deeper to read the theme of sacrifice, I'm moved that nothing else could be quite as fulfilling as a life of sacrifice to show love to someone else.
