Musings

What a beautiful morning!  And a great time to pray with other youth pastors!

Today we focused on Psalm 91 ... about living and abiding in the shelter of God our fortress.  We prayed for God's wings to cover over the youth pastors of this city; that God's children would all seek the deliverance God provides.

God covers us!  We trust in him!

In a world of so many things that just aren't worthy of trust, we prayed that we would live in the deliverance and protection that God provides, and that our lives might be living testimonies that accurately communicate freedom and hope to the people God has placed in our care.

We prayed for kids who need this kind of abiding and dwelling in Jesus instead of trusting and relying in the world's prosperity ... that things like "Escalades with spinners" and "success" wouldn't snare or trap them.

We prayed against fear, claiming that the terror of the night and the arrow that flies by day and the pestilence that stalks in darkness and the destruction that wastes at noonday will all fall powerless against us as we find refuge under God's wings.

We thanked God for promising to answer those who call, to be with us in trouble, to rescue us and even honor us.  We claimed the promise of a long life that satisfies and the revelation of God's salvation.
